Quite often I feel like a phoenix rising from the ashes.

Today I feel like the ashes are wet and they are weighing me down.

I don’t feel like anything weighs me down permanently. Sometimes I’m just resting and breathing and meditating so that I can go at everything with renewed vigor.. When I think about your poetry and how close reading makes me feel , I note the poems often center around feminine figure being strong and rising above hardship, (It works for me as well . I think of your beautiful book. Battle Angel , nothing but nothing delights me more than two see how beautiful it is when women feel empowered over hardship,—- rather than defeated by it and feeling broken. Nothing makes me hurt more than the things that men do to women. I am constantly embarrassed by the insane actions of my gender anyway – if the book that you wrote , empowers women to spit in the eye of mistreatment then so be it and let that happen.I can think of countries that, through custom, mistreat women. Women in those countries desperately need any empowerment they can get?

I have been telling my Little Sis for 40 odd years that she should publish, her poems are inspiring and have the ability to bring tears to my eyes, leave me covered in goosebumps and totally in awe of her! As for her book, Battle Angel, It is powerful and something a lot of women and some men I hear, are leaning on in their time of need. It doesn’t get better than that!

It’s a story of love, romance, pain and suffering, but in such away that it’s a continuation of a life over decades. Absolutely beautifully written and a pleasure to read.

When I was going thru my divorce , the insight in this book of poetry could have given me the will to fight and not settle.

This may be aimed at women and finding their inner strength but I’m a man and I found that also. We all want to be successful when we fail we use inner strength to bounce back and continue fighting for everything we are due in this life. The book speaks to your strong inner spirit. I love the book so much I bought another one for a dear family member. An added perk is that the book just feels good in your hands, like leather.
